One sample declared as 3-MMC did not contain 3-MMC but 2-MMC.
2-MMC (2-methylmethcathinone) is an NPS (new psychoactive substance) from the cathinone group. 2-MMC is often marketed on the internet as a mephedrone (4-MMC) or 3-MMC substitute. According to user reports, the effect of 2-MMC tends to be compared to amphetamine (performance-enhancing and stimulating), which is why many users have experienced a slightly different effect than expected. Thus, in the event of a false declaration, as in this case, there is an increased risk that a high dose of 2-MMC will be consumed unintentionally. There is hardly any information available on the effects, side effects and long-term consequences of this substance. Consumption of this substance therefore harbors unknown risks.
